Job Summary
Manage all phases of general liability litigation from case inception through resolution, developing strategies and providing legal analysis. Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, briefs, and settlement agreements while conducting depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials. Communicate directly with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and experts, and supervise junior attorneys and support staff. Collaborate with firm leadership to expand the California practice. Requires J.D., active California Bar admission, and significant general liability litigation experience. Submit three qualified candidates within a few days for direct interviews with the hiring manager.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the California Bar
- Significant experience handling general liability litigation matters
- Strong legal writing, research, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters and client relationships
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supervising associates or litigation teams preferred
- Existing portable book of business preferred
- Experience generating and maintaining client relationships
- Ability to bring an associate or established team
- Prior leadership or partnership experience within a law firm environment
