Job Summary
Senior Attorney I provides legal counsel to NYPA’s business units focusing on power, transmission, and regulatory matters, conducting advanced legal research, drafting opinions and briefs, negotiating and approving contracts, and representing NYPA in litigation/arbitration as needed. The role requires expertise in energy law, regulatory affairs, and governance with the ability to manage complex transactions, interact with clients, and advise senior management on regulatory matters, while traveling up to 25% within NY State.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor Degree
- admission to New York State Bar
- minimum 5 years of legal experience
- experience in energy/regulatory/litigation/finance/employment law preferred
