Job Summary
Senior attorney with a portable book of business who will practice with high autonomy and ownership. Maintain and grow your portable client base, set your own billing rates, manage client relationships, and operate with full ownership over your practice area and growth plan. You will originate, retain, and expand client relationships using the firm’s national platform, administrative support, and marketing resources, collaborating with other entrepreneurial partners across markets. Practice areas may include Corporate, M&A, Finance, Real Estate, Litigation, Tax, Employment, and Intellectual Property; leverage cross-referral opportunities and a national platform to scale your independent practice.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience at a sophisticated business law firm
- A portable book of business >= $300K+
- Active bar license in the state(s) where you provide legal services
- Self-sufficient practice with no assigned work
- Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to own your platform
- Strong client relationship management skills
- Experience in corporate, M&A, finance, real estate, litigation, tax, employment, IP, or related business law practice
- Multi-state or nationally portable client base (bonus points for cross-referral potential)
- Desire for more autonomy, flexibility, and direct upside
- Prior experience building or scaling an independent practice
- Military or veteran background with proven private-sector legal success
