Job Summary
Senior Associate, Fund Accounting role based in Halifax, NS with SS&C. Responsibilities include maintaining financial data in the investment database, posting journal entries and monthly trial balance, reconciling bank accounts, calculating capital calls and distributions, performing full NAV calculations with income and expense accruals, allocating income to partners per partnership agreements, preparing quarterly financial statements per US GAAP, maintaining investment data, and client interaction. Requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance/Economics and 2+ years in fund accounting; strong knowledge of financial reporting and products; advanced Excel and MS Office skills; and a team-oriented, detail-focused approach. Hybrid work model offered.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- 2+ years’ experience in fund accounting
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and financial products (i.e. equities, futures, fixed income, Funds)
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Team player mentality with the ability to independently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills
