Job Summary
Senior Associate Scientist in Translational Research, Oncology focuses on bench-based translational biomarker work and assay development in a multidisciplinary oncology setting. Responsibilities include conducting in vitro experiments supporting preclinical and early-phase clinical trials, collaborating across cell-based, in vivo, and clinical assay teams, selecting and deploying clinical-stage assays, testing hypotheses from clinical observations, and communicating results to diverse stakeholders. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2+–4+ years of experience, hands-on experience with cell-based and biochemical assays (e.g., qPCR, RNA analyses, CRISPR, co-cultures, xenografts, flow cytometry, IHC), familiarity with sequencing and proteomics technologies, and strong data analysis and collaboration skills. Compensation range for Brisbane, CA is $107,240–$129,945, with on-site work at the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., biology, biochemistry, pharmacology) with relevant experience
- 4+ years of academic and/or industry experience (BS) or 2+ years with MS (as per posted qualifications)
- Hands-on experience with in-vitro cellular and biochemical assays
- Familiarity with genome, transcriptome, and proteome characterization techniques
- Strong data analysis, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
- Knowledge of translational research and drug development processes
- Ability to stay focused and deliver high-quality data in a fast-paced setting
