Job Summary
Senior Associate Scientist in the Delivery Sciences team at Alnylam. Contribute to ligand discovery efforts for expanding RNAi delivery to all tissues. Drive in vitro ligand selection campaigns using display technologies (phage/yeast display, MACS/FACS) against diverse membrane proteins; characterize ligand-receptor interactions via ELISA, BLI/SPR, flow cytometry, and epitope binning; support library construction and hit sequence recovery using PCR, cloning, and plasmid purification; assist with preparation and characterization of soluble and membrane-embedded protein antigens (fusion proteins, nanodiscs, VLPs); collaborate across groups to evaluate ligands for tissue-specific RNAi delivery in vitro and in vivo. Requires BS/MS in Biochemistry, Molecular/Cell Biology, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, or related field with 3-5 years in biopharma; sterile cell culture experience; experience with protein assays (ELISA, SDS-PAGE/Western, immunoprecipitation, SPR/BLI); flow cytometry and molecular biology techniques are a plus; strong organizational and communication skills. This onsite role is primarily located in Cambridge, MA.
