Senior Associate - Projects, Development and Construction

Job Summary
Negotiate and draft construction, development, and project documentation while advising clients on procurement and contracting strategies. Manage a varied workload by running matters, organizing files, and supervising junior team members across UK and international projects. Provide payment advice, analyze contracts for rights and responsibilities, and advise on delays, fire stopping, and termination notices to avoid live disputes. Focus on standard form contracts like JCT, NEC, and FIDIC, with a preference for candidates with 6+ years of experience in non-contentious construction law, housing, and development sectors.
Required Qualifications
- at least 6+ years qualified
- previous experience of working within a construction team
- managing Associates and a range of matters
- extensive experience of non-contentious construction law
- all standard form construction contracts
- bespoke arrangements
- relevant sector experience
- Development, Investor and/or housing and accommodation experience
- solid knowledge of the various standard form contracts and appointments, including JCT, NEC and FIDIC forms
- market commercial expectations and compromise positions
- willingness to take on more bespoke, complex agreements
- large scale due diligence exercises
- typical development arrangements
- experience of running matters

- ability to work well with and supervise and nurture more junior members of the team
- hybrid agile working policy allowing employees to work from home (or another UK location) for at least 50% of their time
- expectation of attendance within the London office on two 'core days'
