Job Summary
Senior Associate, International Tax at KPMG leads multinational tax planning and advisory work for high-profile clients. Responsibilities include advising on tax planning decisions for inbound and outbound cross-border investments, structuring tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions and IPOs, assisting with tax provisions and compliance to financial statements, and collaborating with US and non-US teams to deliver global tax solutions. The role emphasizes developing complex tax models, preparing memos and analyses, and providing insightful client service across the investment life cycle, including support in alternative investment contexts and coordination with Mergers & Acquisition Tax teams. The candidate should have at least three years of international/tax planning experience, strong Excel modeling and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple engagements and mentor junior staff.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of experience working on international, mergers and acquisitions, and/or federal tax planning engagements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Masters in Taxation, JD, and/or LLM (with a concentration in tax) preferred
- Knowledge of a broad range of international and domestic tax law provisions
- Strong research and writing, Excel modeling, and oral communication skills
- Ability to balance and lead multiple engagements, supervise and assist with the development and training of staff professionals
- Ability to develop and deepen client relationships and expand the KPMG footprint in local and global markets
