Job Summary
Senior Associate, Government Contracts provides in-house subject-matter expertise across the lifecycle of U.S. government and defense programs, advising executives, negotiating complex agreements, and managing compliance. Responsibilities include advising on FAR/DFARS, planning and leading contract negotiations and execution, reviewing and supporting prime/subcontracting and teaming arrangements, guiding compliance topics (cost accounting, audits, data rights, cybersecurity, procurement integrity), handling contract performance issues (modifications, claims, disputes, terminations), developing scalable processes and training, and coordinating with Business Development, Legal, and Compliance. The role also involves managing outside counsel and consultants and supporting regulatory requirements for a fast-moving, regulated space company.
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar membership
- 10+ years of government contracts law experience, in a law firm and/or in-house
- Comprehensive knowledge of FAR/DFARS and foundational government contracting principles
- Strong communicator with the presence and confidence to engage senior leadership and external counterparts
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities shift and self-direction is essential
