Senior Associate for Staff Training and Development

Job Summary
Develop and implement a program-wide strategy for training and technical assistance, including staff assessments, frameworks, tools, and approaches applicable across all colleges. Design and deliver high-quality multi-campus staff training events, including in-person and virtual convenings related to advisement, career development, leadership, data, and technology. Facilitate meetings, convenings, and cross-college working sessions to ensure inclusive participation and actionable outcomes. Provide ongoing learning opportunities, including individual and group consultation, on-site and virtual support and coaching. Engage college partners in the development and implementation of training and professional development assessments, events, and resources. Execute logistical and technical components of learning initiatives, including scheduling, event announcements, promotional materials, setup, attendee communications, and virtual platform configuration. Create instructional support materials such as learner manuals, templates, rubrics, FAQs, and assessment tools for workshop and webinar delivery. Manage project work plans, timelines, and processes to ensure timely completion and high-quality deliverables. Serve as a co-producer for online events, handling chat functions, recordings, participant engagement tools, and follow-up tasks. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. This role reports to the CUNY EDGE Deputy Director for Program Management within the Office of Academic Affairs.
Required Qualifications
- MINIMUM Bachelor's degree
- four years' related experience
- At least two years of experience facilitating or teaching in postsecondary or professional learning environments
- Strong communication, presentation, project management, and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement in-person and virtual learning experiences and resources for staff development
- Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading meetings, cross-sector working groups, advisory bodies, or learning communities in multiple modes to diverse audiences
- Exceptional written communication skills, including experience producing training materials, manuals, or implementation guides grounded in field-based work
- Working knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment with multiple priorities that need to be effectively managed, while maintaining composure and flexibility in a structured environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities to independently resolve routine and complex issues
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- This is a 80/20 hybrid position (4 days in office)
- Ability to travel to other CUNY campus locations as needed
- While performing these duties, the employee is required to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting items (up to 30 pounds), bending, reaching, and sitting for prolonged periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a higher education setting is a plus
- Proficiency with virtual engagement tools such as Padlet, Mentimeter, and Poll Everywhere
- Proficiency with learning management systems (i.e., Brightspace) and video editing tools used for digitized training content
