Job Summary
Provide technical leadership across major roads and highways projects, lead multidisciplinary teams, and oversee project performance. Build and strengthen relationships with clients and industry partners while identifying and securing new business opportunities. Deliver strategic input into project pursuits and market growth initiatives to drive quality, safety, and commercial outcomes. Mentor and develop engineering teams across the region and represent SMEC as a trusted industry leader. This role involves balancing technical excellence with commercial acumen within the North Queensland team, requiring 12-15 years of experience and RPEQ registration.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- 12-15 years' experience delivering major road and transport infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated leadership of project teams and technical specialists
- Strong business development and client engagement experience
- Proven commercial, project management and risk management capability
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- An established industry network within Queensland
- RPEQ registration
- Chartered Engineer status
