Job Summary
Lead evaluation and selection processes for Chinese and International admissions pathways, managing the Chinese Heritage Review and overseeing application reading workflows. Supervise two Assistant Directors, develop cohesive strategies integrating both tracks, and collaborate with university partners to assess institutional fit. Manage offer acceptances, deposits, and onboarding while representing NYU Shanghai at recruitment and yield events. Use data analytics to guide decisions and ensure alignment with enrollment targets. Flexibility in working hours is required, including occasional early mornings or late evenings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education admissions or a related field
- Supervisory experience, particularly in admissions or related areas
- Familiarity with the Chinese Gaokao and U.S. admissions systems
- Experience managing evaluations, shaping admissions decisions, and training application readers
- Knowledge of admissions operations, including application systems and innovative technology solutions
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Fluency in English
- Strong analytical abilities and experience using data to inform decision-making
- Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., Excel, database systems) to manage and analyze large datasets
- Knowledge of trends and best practices in undergraduate admissions
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cultural contexts and diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to implement innovative solutions in complex operational environments
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including occasional early mornings or late evenings, to accommodate global admissions cycles
