Job Summary
Senior Associate, Development at Education Trust—West leads grant-seeking and donor engagement efforts for education-equity initiatives. The role manages a portfolio of funding priorities, drives proposal and reporting processes (including budget development), and produces materials such as concept papers, proposals, and grant reports in coordination with program staff. The position collaborates with the Deputy Director on funder relationships, supports diversification efforts, and leverages donor databases (Salesforce) and grants-management software (Sage Intacct) to track engagement. The role requires staying current on policy positions and fundraising best practices, and contributing to a culture of philanthropy through staff training and high-quality deliverables. Strong writing, interpersonal, analytical, and project-management skills are essential, with experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, and education-related organizations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
- 4+ years nonprofit fundraising experience with grant writing and reporting
- Experience in education-related organization or knowledge of education equity/policy a plus
- Significant experience with Salesforce or similar CRM
- Strong writing and proposal development skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage grants lifecycle (proposals, reports, budgets)
- Ability to collaborate with program staff and external funders/donors
- Strong organizational and project-management skills
- Capability to analyze donor/funder trends and identify partnership opportunities
