Job Summary
Deliver expert legal advice and services on complex M&A and private equity transactions into and out of Japan, engaging with a diverse client base on high-profile deals. Lead transactions with confidence and minimal oversight while managing multiple work-streams across sectors including energy, infrastructure, tech, and healthcare. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the global network to provide integrated legal support and cultivate client relationships for business development. Requires 3–6 PQE with a law qualification from a common law jurisdiction and fluent Japanese. Hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 3 - 6 PQE (UK notional)
- law qualification from the US, England & Wales, Australia, or other common law jurisdictions
- Demonstrated expertise in M&A (especially in private equity or energy & infrastructure)
- Proven track record of initiating and nurturing client relationships
- ability to lead complex deals and coordinate with various stakeholders
- Proficient in legal drafting
- impeccable attention to detail and clarity
Desired Qualifications
- Fluent or native proficiency in Japanese
