Senior Associate - China

Job Summary
Conduct research and analysis on Chinese domestic politics, economic policy, regulatory developments, and regional geopolitics to support client objectives. Perform primary-source research in Chinese by reviewing government documents, policy announcements, and state media. Produce high-quality, client-specific content including reports, presentations, stakeholder maps, and executive briefing materials. Collaborate with project teams on complex engagements while serving in client-facing roles to build relationships and contribute to strategy. Prepare executives and leadership for travel to China and the Asia-Pacific region through tailored briefings and meeting preparation. Begin anticipating client needs and suggesting solutions under supervision.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of relevant prior professional experience in a government, think tank, or industry association role relevant to China
- Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent and relevant work experience
- Strong understanding of Chinese domestic policy, economic priorities, and regional geopolitics
- Advanced Chinese language skills
- Proven research skills, including experience with and/or ability to conduct primary resource research in Chinese
- Excellent presentation, writing, and analytical skills
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint and other MS Office tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proactive approach to networking and stakeholder engagement
- Entrepreneurial mindset with creative, solution-oriented, problem-solving skills
- Location: Washington, DC (hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
