Senior Associate - China

Job Summary
Conduct research and analysis on Chinese domestic politics, economic policy, regulatory developments, and regional geopolitics to support client objectives. Perform primary-source research in Chinese by reviewing government documents, policy announcements, state media, and think tank publications. Produce high-quality, client-specific content including reports, presentations, stakeholder maps, and executive briefing materials. Collaborate with project teams on complex engagements while anticipating client needs and suggesting solutions under supervision. Support leadership activities through tailored briefings and meeting preparation materials for travel to China and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of relevant prior professional experience in a government, think tank, or industry association role relevant to China
- Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent and relevant work experience
- Strong understanding of Chinese domestic policy, economic priorities, and regional geopolitics
- Advanced Chinese language skills
- Proven research skills, including experience with and/or ability to conduct primary resource research in Chinese
- Excellent presentation, writing, and analytical skills
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint and other MS Office tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proactive approach to networking and stakeholder engagement
- Entrepreneurial mindset with creative, solution-oriented, problem-solving skills
- Location: Washington, DC (hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
