Job Summary

Source, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities, partnerships, and investments for Mayo Clinic while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Conduct feasibility assessments, market analyses, and competitive evaluations to determine the commercial viability of biopharmaceutical, diagnostic, and medical device technologies. Collaborate with physicians, researchers, and external stakeholders to advance innovative solutions, manage intellectual property processes, and negotiate license agreements. Develop assessments, reports, and materials to communicate technologies to internal and external audiences.

Required Qualifications

  • Biopharmaceutical and diagnostic technology development experience
  • Ability to source, evaluate, analyze, and develop new business opportunities
  • Experience connecting business development activities with existing operational units
  • Knowledge of Mayo Clinic strategic plan and prioritized market opportunities
  • Ability to identify and prioritize competitive activity
  • Experience developing a network of industry, entrepreneurial, and investor contacts
  • Experience evaluating the commercial potential of medical inventions and discoveries
  • Experience developing and implementing technology sales and marketing plans
  • Experience managing the patent process
  • Experience identifying potential commercial partners
  • Experience negotiating license agreements and other commercialization arrangements
  • Experience managing relationships with industry
  • Experience advising physicians and scientists regarding protection of intellectual property and technology-based business matters
  • Experience collaborating with physicians, researchers, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience facilitating invention disclosure and intellectual property development
  • Experience identifying patentable innovations
  • Experience conducting prior art and landscape analyses
  • Experience supporting IP strategy
  • Experience conducting feasibility assessments, market analyses, and competitive evaluations
  • Experience developing materials to communicate and promote technologies
  • Experience monitoring industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory, ethical, and confidentiality standards
  • Experience supporting the planning and execution of technology development projects and commercialization efforts
  • Experience defining scope, timelines, and key deliverables
  • Experience coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to organize and manage work accordingly
  • Contribution to overall project management
