Job Summary
Senior Associate or Associate in BESS Modeling & Structuring focused on developing and deploying complex optimization models and the CWENQuant platform for BESS dispatch optimization, renewables, gas generation, and data center infrastructure projects across the US. Build stochastic/ML forecasting for prices and fundamentals, maintain gas dispatch and pricing models, support due diligence and risk analytics, and contribute analytical insights to trading, origination, and asset management. Develop data pipelines, create automated workflows, and build market data dashboards using Python, ML/DL techniques, and optimization tools. Collaborate across teams, stay informed on market conditions, and contribute to budget processes and market advocacy. Preferred: Masters/PhD; strong knowledge of power markets and BESS.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of quantitative or modeling experience (Senior Associate) or <3 years (Associate)
- Programming in Python; experience with ML/DL frameworks (scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow)
- Experience with linear/mixed-integer programming (PuLP, Gurobi, CPLEX)
- Knowledge of BESS, renewables, and power market economics (ISO markets CAISO/ERCOT)
- Ability to build robust quantitative/optimization models and forecasting frameworks
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
