Job Summary
Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) Senior Associate/AVP in New York, NY, involved in underwriting, due diligence, closing and asset management of asset-backed credit investments. Responsible for reviewing and underwriting new asset-based transactions, building Excel-based cash flow and valuation models, preparing deal screens and investment committee presentations, conducting market and legal diligence (credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, forward flow, key contracts), engaging with third-party diligence providers, supporting quarterly valuation and investor requests, assisting with term-sheet construction and portfolio asset management, and maintaining ABF deal pipeline. Requires a 4-year degree, 4–8 years of relevant asset-backed finance/investment banking experience, strong asset-level and corporate analysis, advanced MS Office modeling, ability to leverage AI for research and presentations, excellent written and verbal communication, team-oriented with integrity and attention to detail, and willingness to support occasional non-real ABF opportunistic transactions.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year degree from a top university/college
- Minimum of 4-8 years of relevant experience in asset-backed finance, investment banking and/or finance
- Strong understanding of asset level and corporate analysis including quantitative analysis
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint (including strong modeling skills)
- Ability to leverage artificial intelligence for research, presentations/content creation and data analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team player, ability to work independently, strong integrity/ethics, attention to detail, ownership mentality
- Desire to assist with occasional non-real ABF opportunistic credit transactions based on staffing needs
