Job Summary
Senior Associate - AI / Data working across the full data science pipeline to collate, model, and interpret large datasets, develop production-ready models, and deliver business-focused insights. Responsibilities include assembling and cleansing data, feature engineering, building and validating statistical and ML models for claims triage, fraud detection, outcome prediction, and efficiency improvements; designing automated data collection pipelines within the Davies Microsoft data platform (Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI); creating analytical tools, dashboards, and reports; conducting experiments (A/B testing, model validation, production monitoring); ensuring outputs are production-ready and well-documented, and collaborating with data engineers, AI engineers, and platform teams; communicating findings to stakeholders and senior leadership; contributing to data science practice through tooling, governance, and knowledge sharing; and leveraging AI tooling and governance to drive business value in insurance/regulated industries.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning, with strong command of relevant libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft data platform, including Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI, for data ingestion, transformation, and visualisation
- Experience designing and evaluating machine learning models (classification, regression, clustering, NLP) and deploying them in production or near-production environments
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, data warehouses, and medallion architecture data lake patterns
- Ability to visualise and communicate complex data effectively to diverse audiences (reports, dashboards, presentations)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior leadership
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail in exploring large datasets
- Experience working across teams to translate data science concepts into business requirements
- Experience building data transformation processes with governance and repeatable workflows
- Familiarity with model monitoring, experiment tracking, and MLOps principles
- Interest in applying data science to insurance/financial services/claims management or regulated industries
- Familiarity with AI and generative AI tooling (LLMs, embeddings, vector search) and integrating with traditional data science methods
