Senior Asset Manager, US West

Job Summary
Identify commercial risks and opportunities for existing assets and develop risk management strategies to optimize their value. Draft sections of the strategic asset management plan and lead negotiations for commercial contracts, including PPAs and service agreements. Serve as the primary contact for counterparties, joint venture partners, and external agencies while resolving disputes and ensuring compliance with applicable agreements. Coordinate with internal subject matter experts to analyze market developments and implement strategies for asset optimization. Manage commercial reporting functions and provide support to facility managers on operating and capital investment issues. Lead ad-hoc special projects and participate in the evaluation of new assets for acquisition.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in engineering, business, economics, or related field
- Master's or working toward master's
- A professional designation
- 8+ years of experience in an operational, commercial, engineering, business development, or financial and analytical roles
- 5+ years of experience in P&L including variance reporting
- Reasonable understanding of accounting and transaction flows through the financials
- Proficient in contract review and negotiations
- Reasonable levels of financial analysis skills, familiarity with financial statements, budgets, forecasting and development of asset earnings profiles
- Deep understanding and experience in power markets, electricity generating plants, plant operations for each region where the asset is situated
- Experience working with complex legal agreements or contracts
- Commercial management or negotiating experience
- Ability for travel in the North American market to plant sites and other offices

Desired Qualifications
- preferably in the deregulated electricity industry or other related industry
- Knowledge/experience with respect to power markets, power generation, power marketing, regulatory, commodities and related agreements, transmission/transport and related agreements and power purchase agreements
- Experience with tax-equity partnership structures for renewable projects
