Job Summary
Manage contract work for national and regional accounts by acting as the direct client representative on-site, overseeing contractors, and recommending remedial actions or stopping work when public health is jeopardized. Lead assigned projects by defining objectives, developing work plans, and directing technician staff while performing detailed facility inspections for regulatory compliance and hazard evaluation. Interface with regulatory agencies, advise clients on scope changes and contractor performance, and maintain required certifications for sampling and assessment protocols. Seek opportunities to expand client services and ensure high ethical standards throughout project delivery. Based in the New York City metropolitan area with required travel, reporting to the Regional Manager.
Required Qualifications
- 10-15 years of experience performing and managing environmental consulting projects
- experience performing and managing environmental consulting projects, specifically, the assessment, testing, and management of regulated and potentially hazardous building materials (asbestos, lead, PCBs, etc.)
- required certifications necessary to sample and assess these types of materials
- working knowledge of Industrial Hygiene exposure sampling
- working knowledge of Indoor Air Quality
- working knowledge of mold investigations and sampling techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledgeable about contracts, contract interpretation and scope of work
- Maintain required certifications mandated by the regulations
- Understanding of building engineering and structural design knowledge of site planning
- Must make independent, on-site judgments based upon professional experience to advise or recommend to contractors alternative ways of performing work subject to specified cost and regulatory compliance
- Acts as Project Manager for assigned client projects
- Interfaces with clients and supervises subcontractors to achieve project goals
