Senior Architect - Mergers and Acquisitions

Job Summary

Lead deep-dive architectural assessments of target companies' infrastructure, application stacks, and data layers to identify technical debt, scalability limits, and operational risks. Define strategic options aligning target systems with TransUnion's global enterprise architecture and InfoSec standards while building data-driven technology cost models for diligence. Design and execute detailed post-close technology integration schedules, govern Transition Service Agreements for divestitures, and drive consolidation of global cloud environments and legacy data centers. Manage integration budgets, track variances to executive leadership, and act as the primary escalation point to unblock engineering teams and resolve complex architectural bottlenecks. This hybrid role requires reporting to the Senior Director, M&A Global Technology, with a minimum of two days per week in-person at an assigned TU office location.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in enterprise architecture, engineering leadership, or technical consulting
  • At least 2 years dedicated to leading global M&A transactions
  • Documented success leading transactions from pre-diligence scoping through to final post-close integration or complex carve-out separation
  • Direct experience creating, negotiating, tracking, and exiting technology TSAs for corporate divestitures
  • Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures
  • Deep expertise in enterprise application integration (EAI)
  • Deep expertise in software engineering (including code quality and SDLC evaluation)
  • Deep expertise in data engineering/analytics pipelines
  • Deep expertise in modern cybersecurity frameworks
  • Proficiency in building technology cost models (CapEx/OpEx) during diligence
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar integration budgets post-close
  • This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience executing M&A within highly regulated data, fintech, financial services, or credit-reporting environments
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field
  • Relevant industry credentials (e.g., AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP, Certified M&A Professional)
