Job Summary
Manage the development, review, and approval of design and construction for City buildings and facilities while leading a vertical project management team. Direct project development, establish preliminary budgets and schedules, and oversee consultant selection and work products. Review plans, specifications, and cost estimates; inspect construction sites; and coordinate with contractors and client departments. Develop reports and presentations for city staff and the public while supervising staff adherence to records and file management policies. Programs, designs, draws, and writes technical specifications for City projects. Reports to the City Architect on any issues delaying project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in architecture
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Architect in the State of Texas
- Must obtain a license to practice in the State of Texas within one (1) year of employment
