Job Summary
Define architectural vision and solution intent for complex products by composing observability designs, identifying root causes of complex issues, and driving early adoption of non-functional production support requirements. Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable design patterns, automate services for reliability, and create error budget policies prioritizing stories below Service Level Objective thresholds. Lead design of complex architectures, facilitate solution-driven discussions, and perform design and code reviews to ensure security, performance, and scalability. Engage as a subject matter expert in incident triage, failure scenario modeling, and capacity bottleneck planning to reduce manual support effort. Work across business, operations, and technology to prioritize functional and non-functional requirements into a technology roadmap, selecting technology stacks and developing Service Level Indicators to measure service reliability.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of application development experience preferably in Java and / or Python
- 10+ years professional experience developing solutions reliant on data stores (relational or object oriented)
- Demonstrable knowledge of problem domain in which they have been working
- Demonstrable ability to solve problems across the entire technology stake – from hardware, to networking, to OS to application layer
- Experience and desire to work in an Agile process (pair programming, daily stand-ups, etc.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work comfortably as a team player
