Job Summary

Supervise and conduct archaeological fieldwork while authoring survey reports for pre-contact and historic contexts. Prepare field mapping and graphics, analyze recovered cultural material from the Mid-Atlantic region, and conduct research at regional and digital repositories. Maintain and organize digital project files, execute tasks under client and permitting requirements, and participate in professional organizations and conferences. Work under the supervision of the Director alongside other staff, with an option for remote work for non-field duties. Occasional travel to project sites in the Parsippany area and nearby offices is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Must meet the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Standards in Archaeology
  • possessing an M.A. or Ph.D. in Anthropology/Archaeology
  • RPA registration
  • Experience conducting archaeological fieldwork in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania
  • minimum of 5 years of experience in archaeological project supervisory experience
  • ability to author technical reports
  • analyze archaeological assemblages
  • conduct background research and archaeological fieldwork
  • execute tasks in accordance with client and permitting requirements
  • NV5 standards
  • industry best practices
  • Proficiency in software tools such Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience conducting archaeological fieldwork in New York City
  • Experience with ArcMap/ArcPro, AutoCad, Adobe Illustrator or other design/GIS programs
  • Strong communications skills
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Experience with Historic Preservation Office guidelines and standards

Desired Qualifications
