Senior Application Support Engineer (Python/Linux)

Job Summary
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 production support for mission-critical trading and business applications, troubleshooting complex incidents and managing escalation and root cause analysis. Monitor application health, configure monitoring rules, and respond to production alerts while developing automation using Shell Scripting and Python to improve operational efficiency. Manage application configuration changes, coordinate deployments with development and infrastructure teams, and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures. Lead projects involving application deployment, server implementation, and operational improvements, while supporting business continuity planning, IT security initiatives, and audit activities. Collaborate closely with developers, infrastructure engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure stable and reliable production services within a global financial services environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
- 8+ years of experience in Application Support, Production Support, or Technical Operations
- Strong experience supporting enterprise or financial applications in a production environment
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with Shell Scripting (Bash/Ksh) and Python for automation
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to investigate and analyze production data
- Good understanding of server infrastructure, networking, and application architecture
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well under pressure
- Strong communication skills in English
