Job Summary
Senior Application Scientist - Proteins responsible for leading advanced protein-containing application development, shaping long-term innovation strategies, and guiding customer-centric technical solutions. Develop ingredient, formulation, and process solutions; provide scientific evidence and structure–function guidance; lead complex application studies from new ingredient innovation to range extensions. Serve as a senior technical expert at customer sites and industry events; support and sometimes lead high-complexity customer trials; mentor and train team members; collaborate with business teams to drive strategic development and internal capability growth. Requirements include a Ph.D. or Masters in Food Science or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience) and 10-15 years in food applications/product development with deep protein fortification expertise; experience across categories such as Specialty Nutrition Beverage, Nutrient Dense Snacking/Baking, and related CPG exposure; strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills; willingness to travel.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or Masters in Food Science or related discipline or extensive practical experience in food production/product development with demonstrated scientific capability
- Minimum 10-15 years experience in food applications and/or food product development
- Experience fortifying foodstuffs with protein, preferably plant-based protein
- Depth in at least one of: Specialty Nutrition Beverage (RTD/RTM), Nutrient Dense Snacking/Baking
- BB ingredient company experience and consumer packaged goods product development exposure
- Lead/mentor experience; supervisory responsibility for applications scientists
- Willingness to travel occasionally domestically/internationally (<10-15%)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and customer-facing technical leadership
