Job Summary
Own analytics platform initiatives from scoping through delivery, and shape the roadmap for trusted data answers. Move from Looker to gold-tier dbt models with a prose semantic layer to enable plain-language questions. Build agents and dashboards, monitor anomalies, and ensure execs can act on the data. Responsibilities include ingest-to-production dbt modeling, documenting model definitions and metrics, and developing an LLM-powered query layer with retrieval/evals. Requires 4+ years in analytics/data engineering, strong dbt/SQL skills, experience with Redshift or similar warehouses, and proven ability to own technical decisions and communicate effectively.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a hybrid data role, including time owning a significant data platform or migration from end to end.
- Deep dbt and SQL fluency. Strong opinions about grain, testing, documentation, and the limits of each.
- Comfort working in Redshift or a similar warehouse at scale.
- Built something useful with LLMs against your own data and have opinions about what works. Hands-on experience with retrieval or evals is a plus.
- Clear technical writing. You can explain a metric in a paragraph an exec reads once.
- Demonstrated ability to own technical decisions in your domain and bring stakeholders along across the org.
