Job Summary
Senior Analytics Engineer to bridge raw data and business needs in NEXTON's Data team. Role focuses on architecture and industrialization of dbt and Snowflake, auditing/restructuring models (Staging, Intermediate, Marts), developing complex Jinja macros for automated tests and reconciliation, optimizing Snowflake costs via profiling, materialization strategies, and clustering. You’ll manage dependencies with Airflow, implement end-to-end quality checks (Checksums, data integrity), and establish standard procedures (SOPs) while mentoring ~10 contributors. Deliverables include an optimized dbt architecture, reusable macros/packages, performance/cost reports, and robust orchestration pipelines. Requires Expert-level data experience with a strong emphasis on dbt Core, Snowflake, and Airflow. Proactive mindset in analytics-driven business impact and legacy-code auditing, with a proven leadership track record.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of data experience
- Expert dbt Core (Macros, CI/CD)
- Snowflake expertise (engine internals, micro-partitions)
- Airflow orchestration
- Strong data modeling
- Ability to audit and restructure dbt models (Staging, Intermediate, Marts)
- Leadership/mentoring (team of 10)
- FinOps/cost optimization for Snowflake
- Quality checks and end-to-end testing frameworks (Checksums, data integrity)
