Job Summary
Assess evolving ESG reporting requirements and establish internal controls for financial disclosures related to Environmental, Social, and Governance standards. Implement compliance processes for the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and IFRS International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) while collaborating with stakeholders across Global Citizenship, Legal, HR, and Internal Audit to validate data collection. Research new sustainability regulations and support training initiatives on financial reporting aspects of ESG. Assist in accounting research for sustainability-related transactions and contribute to additional projects such as benchmarking and policy design. This role supports Abbott's robust voluntary ESG reporting initiatives within the Corporate Finance division in Chicago.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience
Desired Qualifications
- External reporting or prior public accounting experience
- Fundamentals of Sustainability Accreditation – IFRS Foundation Accounting
