Job Summary
Execute antibody discovery campaigns using single-B cell, phage display, and yeast display workflows. Perform molecular biology tasks including PCR, high-throughput cloning, DNA and RNA purification, and gel electrophoresis to prepare samples for next-generation sequencing. Conduct high-throughput primary screening assays via ELISA and flow cytometry to identify and characterize lead antibody candidates. Maintain accurate experimental records in electronic laboratory notebooks and ensure laboratory safety and equipment readiness. Collaborate effectively with Antibody Discovery team members to advance biologics discovery programs. This core laboratory role supports Elanco's global biologics discovery engine, focusing on preventing and treating disease in farm animals and pets.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related scientific field
- Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field with 2-4 years of relevant laboratory experience in a research or industry setting
- Hands-on experience working in a molecular biology, biologics discovery, or related research laboratory environment
- Proficiency with molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, DNA and RNA purification, and gel electrophoresis
- Experience conducting ELISA or other immunoassay-based screening techniques
- 10% travel
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with antibody discovery platforms, including single-B cell workflows, phage display, and/or yeast display
- Experience with flow cytometry, ELISA, or other high-throughput antibody screening methods
- Experience preparing molecular biology samples for next-generation sequencing
- Experience with DNA and RNA purification workflows
- Understanding of antibody structure, function, and biologics discovery principles
- Experience with bioinformatic analysis and selection of antibodies and other proteins
- Demonstrated ability to execute complex laboratory protocols consistently and accurately while managing multiple activities in a collaborative research environment
