Job Summary
Senior Analyst role within S&P Global Ratings focused on credit analysis and rating surveillance, primarily for Brazilian credits with potential expansion to other South American issuers. Responsibilities include managing rating surveillance for a portfolio of roughly 15 credits, leading new transactions and issuer rating analyses using AI-powered tools and automated data validation, participating in publishing and investor outreach, and presenting to senior management while maintaining issuer relationships. The role emphasizes coaching junior analysts, driving process improvement and automation, and collaborating in an international, office-based environment with a requirement to be in the office at least 2 days per week. Preferred qualifications include experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet) and automation tools (Python, R, VBA), strong financial modeling and accounting knowledge, and strong English communication with Spanish being a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or related subject
- 3-5+ years of experience in rating agency, commercial or investment bank, investing institution/asset manager, or audit company
- Strong written and verbal English; Spanish appreciated
- Solid analytical skills; deep understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting concepts
- Proficiency in financial modeling and Excel; experience with debt documentation and legal transaction concepts
- Experience with data analytics platforms and automation tools (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, Python, R, VBA)
- Ability to manage, interpret, and synthesize data for analytical purposes
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to interact with senior management
- Team player with time-management skills
- Willingness to work from the office at least 2 days/week
