Job Summary
Senior Analyst, Business Intelligence leads complex, customized research mandates on clients, prospects, competitors, industries and markets; translates data into lawyer-ready deliverables such as competitive profiles, client briefings, market maps and pitch materials; proactively monitors priority clients and market developments; builds dashboards and visualizations; applies SQL and AI/GenAI to automate workflows; serves as a trusted intelligence advisor to lawyers and business services professionals; collaborates across BI, IT and BD to improve methodologies and toolsets; supports knowledge sharing and continuous professional development; aims to move BI from reactive requests to proactive strategic insights; role supports firm-wide strategic initiatives and client development.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Economics, Library/Information Science, or related analytical field
- Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS/MIS), MBA or equivalent advanced degree is an asset
- Minimum six years of analytical experience in a professional services, legal, financial services or consulting environment
- Experience in a law firm or legal sector BD intelligence function is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint or equivalent DMS
- Working knowledge of commercial research databases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent high-priority mandates independently
- Analytical rigor and critical thinking
- Understanding of business development processes and professional services environments
- Deep knowledge of legal sector research databases
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Power BI)
- SQL querying capability
- Familiarity with CRM and experience management platforms (Microsoft Dynamics, Foundation/Litera)
- Knowledge of legal practice management systems (Aderant)
- Practical knowledge of AI and GenAI tools in research workflows
- French-English bilingual is an asset
