Job Summary

Develop and author Airworthiness certification and conformance plans for developmental and production aircraft stores, supporting Flight Releases and customer platform integration. Perform technical airworthiness planning, tracking, and verification within a digital environment, negotiating bases of certification and means of compliance. Guide technical reviews across design, development, and test processes while facilitating interactions that translate customer requirements into criteria. Ensure systematic realization of certification objectives by tailoring traditional Airworthiness processes and updating plans throughout the product lifecycle. Proactively support design development toward Airworthiness compliance and guide all processes leading to successful issuance of a Military Flight Release or other customer-specific approval.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or aviation related engineering degree
  • 8+ years airworthiness engineering experience
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with DoW and FAA airworthiness authorities
  • Experience with DoW Airworthiness Policy Directives, Instructions, and Airworthiness Bulletins ((MIL-HDBK-516, Seek Eagle Process, and WSESRB, NNMSB, etc.)
  • Experience working FAA Airworthiness processes throughout the life cycle of a developmental aircraft system to achieve successful program completion
  • Experience developing and managing Airworthiness plans, tracking of Airworthiness criterions, and similar activities
  • Must have experience with store integration on DoW platforms
  • Ability to develop and execute Airworthiness Certification process improvement initiatives
  • Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on technical subjects
  • Strong computer and documentation experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret-Level security clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Masters in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering or aviation related technical discipline
  • 15+ years flight airworthiness engineering experience
  • Systems engineering and Airworthiness experience with new small UAS and missile system airworthiness authorizations
  • Previously held a position as Airworthiness Engineering Lead or Airworthiness Engineer
  • Airworthiness experience on a team that executed new store integration activities
  • Experience working with the Department of War (DoW) as a contractor
