Job Summary
Prepare project specifications, complete engineering documents, and analyze data for airfield design, planning, and impact studies. Conduct cost analyses, site selection studies, and design layouts while performing quality control reviews and field observations of ongoing construction. Provide technical guidance to junior staff, manage multidisciplinary teams to ensure contractual compliance, and review others' work for technical accuracy. Serve as a trusted advisor on airfields, buildings, facility planning, and environmental stewardship for airports across the industry.
Required Qualifications
- degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- 10 years relevant experience
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- professional engineer in good standing
- knowledge of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances
- proficiency in production software and construction document production
- proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner
- experience working on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects
- ability to provide technical guidance to junior-level staff
- ability to review others' work for technical accuracy
- participation in the design and implementation of new services, processes, standards, and/or operational plans
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders
