Senior Aircraft Avionics Technician - NHC (Contract)

Job Summary
Perform assembly, installation, repair, or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems during the manufacture, maintenance, or refurbishing of aircraft. Execute function checks on components using blueprints, sketches, vendor manuals, and service data to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and customer specifications. Utilize standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, and test equipment to complete assignments while maintaining close coordination with assigned leads regarding schedules, priorities, and parts availability. Requires a minimum of six years of avionics experience, an A&P license is a plus, and the role is onsite in Columbus, MS as a temporary contract assignment with no visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience working on avionics in aircraft
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be able to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship
- Must be able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 60lbs
- Must be able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 60lbs
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat
- Must be able to move about freely in areas with moving aircraft and parts
- Must be able to stand at the aircraft to perform work
- Must be able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment
- Must be able to operate some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts
- Must be able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment
- Must be able to see and read wire numbers
- Must be able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone
- Must be able to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms
- Must be able to speak in conversations and meetings
- Must be able to deliver information and participate in communications
- Must be able to travel independently and at short notice
- Must be able to perform assembly, installation, repair or replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems
- Must be able to function check of components
- Must be able to maintain close working relationship with assigned lead person
- Must be able to perform work from blueprints, sketches, vendor and service manuals
- Must be able to assure that completed work complies with FAA regulations
- Must be able to use a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment
- Must be able to apply standard shop practices in the fabrication and repair modifications of aircraft structures and repairs
- Must be able to obtain dimensions, locations, alignment, tolerances and other specification requirements
- Must be able to work in areas where exposure to chemicals and fumes will occur
- Must be able to wear Safety Shoes
- Must be able to wear Safety Glasses
- Must be able to wear Hearing Protection
- Must be able to wear Respirators/Masks
- Must be able to wear Protective Gloves
