Senior AI Software Engineer

Senior AI Software Engineer responsible for leading, architecting, designing, developing or integrating AI-enabled business applications and data transformation for on-premise systems to the cloud. Acts as technical consultant, mentors staff, and may lead or sub-lead projects and programs. Responsibilities include evaluating complex client requirements, designing specifications, developing, testing and implementing efficient solutions, coordinating with client areas and IT teams, researching architecture options, and guiding integration of vendor applications. Must have solid knowledge of AI-enabled development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, MCPs), extensive experience with AI/ML model development (Vertex AI, RAG pipelines), and strong programming skills (Python, TypeScript, Java, JavaScript). Proficiency in APIs and web services, Dev tools (VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, Git, GitHub, npm/yarn, pip, Maven/Gradle, Docker), and lifecycle practices, plus project leadership and collaboration with internal/external partners. Preferred: industry insurance knowledge, React or front-end frameworks, and test automation tooling (Playwright, Cypress). The role is hybrid in Chicago, IL, with a salary range from $72,000 to $141,000 annually; compensation offers vary by experience and location, with comprehensive benefits.
