Senior AI Software Engineer - 12 month fixed term

Job Summary
Lead the greenfield migration of domain services, reimagining application architecture and modernizing databases to support agentic workflows in property finance. Own major system segments by designing, developing, and deploying robust, scalable software on AWS, including containerized workloads and event-driven architectures. Drive engineering rhythm through planning, resource allocation, and CI/CD pipeline management while ensuring production reliability via proactive debugging and monitoring. Collaborate with Product/UX teams to build aesthetically pleasing interfaces that empower borrowers, adhering to strict standards for clean, maintainable code and backwards-compatible API design.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in TypeScript
- Solid experience across Node.js back-end services
- Modern React front-ends
- Experience working with document databases, ideally MongoDB (schema design, indexing, performance, and/or change-stream or event patterns)
- Strong experience building and operating services on AWS, including containerised workloads, networking, observability, and CI-driven deployments
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures (e.g. Kafka or similar), including designing resilient, asynchronous workflows
- Experience designing, building, and evolving HTTP APIs and data contracts, including backwards-compatible changes and integration with multiple consumers
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, including automated testing, trunk-based development, and feature-flagged releases
- Experience working with third-party APIs, vendors, and partner platforms, including technical due diligence, integration design, and troubleshooting
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across multiple services and integrations, using logs, metrics, and traces effectively
- Experience with at least one secondary language (e.g. Kotlin) and a track record of learning new stacks and tools quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholder
