Senior AI Security Engineer

Senior AI Security Engineer focusing on securing AI systems, models, and pipelines powering Vertex products. Collaborates with product engineering, platform, governance, and information security to identify, assess, and mitigate AI-specific risks related to LLM-enabled applications, retrieval-augmented generation, and agentic workflows. Builds and maintains applied AI security practices, tooling, threat models, red team exercises, and developer guidance to ship AI-powered features safely. Responsibilities include threat modeling and security reviews of AI features, identifying vulnerabilities, ensuring traceability with identity/security/logging frameworks, hands-on testing and automated red teaming, documenting failure modes, developing security automation, defining secure-by-default patterns, monitoring emerging AI threats, and guiding secure AI tooling and deployment. Must communicate security risks to technical and non-technical audiences and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
