Job Summary
Senior AI Researcher to translate latest ML research into practical, domain-specific solutions for CivCheck’s permitting platform. Own applied research across computer vision, LLMs, multi-modal learning, and agentic AI workflows; lead end-to-end experiments from framing questions to evaluating model performance; ship systems in a lean, startup environment with hands-on work on MLOps tooling, CI/CD, containerization, and deployment; shape technical direction by identifying high-impact opportunities and communicating trade-offs to stakeholders; stay current with techniques across computer vision, generative AI, NLP, and multimodal learning and bring useful approaches into practice. The role emphasizes independent ownership, production-ready research, and collaboration with nontechnical stakeholders, requiring 7–10 years of hands-on experience, strong Python experience, cloud ML workflows, and a track record of shipping real-world AI solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of hands-on AI research experience with track record shipping models
- ability to take projects from idea to production
- proficiency in Python and modern frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX)
- experience with ML workflows on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) including deployment and monitoring
- CI/CD for models, containerization, monitoring
- strong software engineering skills and Git/version control
- experience in computer vision and image processing (feature extraction, object detection, segmentation)
- experience with LLMs, diffusion models, model distillation, or multimodal architectures in production
- ability to communicate with nontechnical stakeholders
- ability to operate independently and translate vague problems into scoped research plans
- experimental design and statistical intuition
- ability to balance accuracy, latency, interpretability, and cost
- familiarity with MLOps tooling
