Senior AI Engineer

Senior AI Engineer at Vocca responsible for owning the AI layer of the stack end-to-end, from voice agents and conversational flows to evaluation and observability tooling. Design fast, reliable, secure, and measurable AI systems; scale voice agents to millions of calls across medical practices; build observable, continuously evaluated agents that degrade gracefully when models misbehave; shape AI engineering standards across architecture, evaluation, and culture. Key expectations include production ship of LLM/agent systems with a strong backend foundation (APIs, infra, data), ownership from architecture to deployment to monitoring, focus on evaluation, reliability, and explainability of AI behavior, and balancing performance with cost and latency in a healthcare context. You'll work with founders, product, design, and growth; collaborate across teams; contribute to a true product-tech culture; and participate in a multi-stage interview process.
