Job Summary
Senior AI Engineer - SAP S/4HANA design, build, and deploy AI agents and Joule extensions to automate SAP workflows using multi-step reasoning, A2A/MCP protocols, and governance. Develop integrations with foundation models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) via SAP Generative AI Hub, implement MCP-based tool usage, create multi-agent architectures, establish prompt engineering standards, and explore SAP AI capabilities. Collaborate with Lead Developers and Solution Architects to ensure alignment with Clean Core, mentor teams on generative AI, prompt engineering, and agentic design, and stay current with SAP AI roadmap.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years focused on Generative AI application development and/or agentic AI architectures
- Deep hands-on experience with LLMs (Claude, GPT, Gemini)
- Proven experience building agentic AI systems using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or SAP-native orchestration
- Strong understanding of MCP and A2A protocols
- Working knowledge of SAP BTP AI services — Generative AI Hub, AI Core, Joule Studio, SAP Build, and Integration Suite
- Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, data models, released APIs, and business processes in Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, or Order-to-Cash
- Strong understanding of AI safety and governance
- Excellent communication skills
