Senior AI Engineer (6 Month Contract)

Job Summary
Senior AI Engineer role leading enterprise AI initiatives on a 3-to-6-month contract. Translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions spanning Copilot Studio agents, AI-enabled Power Automate workflows, Azure OpenAI / Azure AI services, and broader Power Platform deployments. Provide architectural guidance, governance input, and hands-on contribution for delivery, troubleshooting, and optimization of AI components. Collaborate with internal teams and vendors, support governance activities (including DLP considerations, responsible AI, and telemetry), and ensure alignment with enterprise guardrails. Hybrid/remote flexibility with Calgary-based in-person collaboration; requires senior-level expertise, strong communication, and a delivery-oriented mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
- 10+ years of experience crafting and developing systems using programming concepts (Object-Oriented Design & Development)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in building and developing AI solutions, delivering enterprise-grade AI, automation, cloud, or Microsoft platform solutions
- Deep familiarity with enterprise AI solution patterns, including LLM-enabled workflows, AI agents, governance, and integration with business systems
- Solid understanding of the Microsoft AI stack, including Copilot Studio, Power Platform, M365 Copilot, and Azure AI services
- Strong architectural judgment around security, maintainability, and business risk
- Clear communication and ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical collaborators
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field or certifications as asset
