Job Summary
Lead, coach, and mentor regional leaders and safety representatives to strengthen safety performance and execution of safety priorities. Partner with regional leadership teams to develop and implement safety communications, culture initiatives, and Safety Management Program enhancements. Provide expert guidance on safety standards, regulatory compliance, audits, inspections, investigations, and corrective action plans across operations. Serve as a trusted health and safety subject matter expert, collaborating with operations, support teams, and occupational hygiene groups to improve programs and outcomes. Lead contractor safety engagement, field assessments, safety training delivery, and enhancements to training programs and employee capability. Drive continuous improvement and operational reliability by leading problem-solving initiatives, work teams, and safety-focused performance improvements. This role requires moderate (40%) travel throughout the United States, with flexibility for extended hours and emergency response support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related area
- 6+ years of pertinent experience in occupational safety and wellness within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries
- For candidates who do not possess a university degree, an additional 3-years of related experience is required (total of 9+ years)
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing safety management systems and programs
- Familiarity in change management practices
- Familiarity in North American Health & Safety legislation
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized and adaptable, capable of working independently and collaboratively while managing uncertainty and learning quickly in dynamic environments
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent safety designation
- Experience using contractor management systems (e.g., ISNetworld)
- Advanced proficiency in company tools, systems, databases, and communication technologies

- Flexibility required to work extended hours when required to manage work priorities, accommodate field schedules and address stakeholder needs
- Flexibility to travel for extended periods (approx. 10 days) and work extended hours as required (infrequent) for emergency response support
- Ability to be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located without requiring sponsorship from Enbridge now or in the future
Desired Qualifications
