Job Summary
Senior-level temporary (up to 12 months) Senior Advisor, Employee Communications based in Edmonton, AB. Responsible for delivering strategic employee communications planning and execution for company-wide initiatives and for internal/external audiences; manage channels including intranet, email, print materials, and emerging tools; coordinate design with EPCOR Brand Standards; craft on-brand content for internal and external distribution; support major employee events aligned with employee experience and corporate priorities; participate in on-call rotation for communications and issue response; requires a Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations/Journalism/Marketing (or similar) and 4-6 years of communications experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Google Analytics, information architecture; strong writing/editing skills and project management; ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization and adapt in a fast-paced environment; (Hourly wage noted as Starting at $53.92/hour with 80 hours biweekly).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Marketing, or a similar diploma-level education
- 4-6 years of progressively responsible roles in internal and external communications
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Sharepoint, Google Analytics, and information architecture
- Proven knowledge of communications/public relations fundamentals
- Demonstrated experience in delivering effective, measurable communications strategies and plans, drawing on a range of channels, including those specific to internal communications
- Exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization
- Proven communication planning and time management skills, including a high degree of comfort in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
- Solid project management, planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent research, writing and editing skills in print and digital mediums; adheres to editorial standards with a strong attention to detail
- Big picture thinker who links business goals, priorities, and company positions to their work
- Responds to change with an open attitude and focuses on continuous improvement opportunities
- Excels at leveraging social and digital media to reach target audiences
- Experienced in the use of social media and stays current with emerging digital platforms and trends
