Job Summary
Senior Advisor, Monitoring and Appointments based in Wellington, working with Ministers and stakeholders to provide high-quality advice, develop guidance on entity performance, and support board appointments. Role involves advising on Cabinet processes, applying the Crown Entities Act 2004, interfacing with Ministers’ offices to identify selection priorities, assess candidates, and support Cabinet consideration, and ensuring governance and policy advice is integrated across Education Crown Agents. Requires strong data interpretation, risk identification, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to lead and mentor within the team. Salary range $100,296-$121,490 per annum plus KiwiSaver; candidates may be considered for individual skills and experience. Applications close 17 June 2026.
Required Qualifications
- apply analytical frameworks and knowledge gained during a relevant tertiary qualification or at least 5-years work experience in a relevant role
- analysis and interpretation of data to draw meaningful insights and produce high quality advice on entity performance
- lead constructive conversations with a range of stakeholders and be confident to challenge and test perspectives
- ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (preferred)
- beneficial understanding of machinery of government and legislation related to Crown Entities Act 2004
- ability to mentor staff and lead priority tasks across the team
