Job Summary
Senior Advisor on MOCEJ provides legal and policy expertise to support NYC clean energy initiatives, regulatory engagement, and legislative priorities; duties include drafting agreements (grants, contracts, MOUs, NDAs), reviewing legislation and regulations, administering energy regulatory proceedings before FERC and NYS PSC, drafting legislative proposals and memoranda, ensuring compliance with the City’s Information Privacy Law, liaising with the Law Department, and advising city executives on complex environmental and energy law matters.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ABA-approved law school; admitted and in good standing of the NYS Bar
- 2+ years of relevant legal experience post-admission
- Familiarity with New York City procurement laws and processes
- Familiarity with environmental or energy laws and regulations at federal/state/local level
- Familiarity with grant funding processes and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle deadlines
- Capacity to navigate City government and communicate with administrative and technical leaders
