Job Summary
Senior Advisor, Affiliate Strategic Planning in the ASNI Department at the ACLU National office (New York, NY) with hybrid in-office requirements. Lead strategic planning support across the nationwide affiliate network, translating priorities into operational plans, establishing monitoring practices, and coordinating with national leadership to align enterprise strategy while preserving affiliate autonomy. Serve as an advisor on governance, organizational capacity, program planning, budgeting, and risk management; facilitate collaboration with affiliate leaders and multi-stakeholder groups; emphasize equity and inclusion and maintain discretion when handling sensitive organizational information. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, strategic diagnostics, and the development of scalable tools and resources to strengthen the network.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in strategic planning, organizational development, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex planning processes with senior leaders, boards, and multi-stakeholder organizations.
- Substantial experience working with federated, networked, or multi-entity organizations.
- Strong understanding of organizational systems, governance, budgeting, and people management in mission-driven organizations.
- Proven ability to work across lines of authority and influence without direct control.
- Exceptional facilitation, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Deep commitment to equity and inclusion organizational practices.
