Job Summary
Senior Adviser to support KPMG Australia’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team with payroll processing, bookkeeping, and tax/compliance services for a diverse client base. Responsibilities include payroll calculations, STP reporting, superannuation, payroll tax lodgments, Work Cover compliance, annual payroll reconciliations, PAYG summaries, monthly management reporting, BAS/IAS preparation, and other back-office tasks. The role emphasizes client-facing service, collaboration with multi-client engagements, a generalist skillset across payroll and bookkeeping, and delivering high-quality services within a multinational accounting firm. Required: at least 2 years of bookkeeping experience, strong payroll knowledge, experience with Xero (certification preferred), ability to work in a corporate environment with multiple clients, and tertiary education with CPA/CA or equivalent preferred; strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail are essential. Flexible work arrangements are indicated as in-person in Melbourne, VIC, Australia.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll preparation and employer obligations
- Experience working in a corporate environment with numerous clients
- Excellent knowledge of Xero, preferably with Xero certification
- Experience in tax compliance (BAS and IAS) preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team, assisting other team members when required
- Attention to detail and ability to proof own work
- Professional communication skills appropriate for a corporate environment
- Tertiary education essential. Enrolled in CPA/CA or equivalent preferred
